Fortnite Treasure Hunters (One Piece Mini-Season): Everything New in v43.00 and What Chapter 8 Means for Your Account

Fortnite's One Piece mini-season "Treasure Hunters" is live with Crossbones Isle, Devil Fruits and weekly Captain's Day bosses. Here's what changed, how the ranked reset works, when Chapter 8 is expected, and what it means if you're buying or selling a Fortnite account right now.

Fortnite's update v43.00 went live on November 1, 2026 and it isn't a normal season. "Treasure Hunters" is a One Piece mini-season that closes out Chapter 7, with a brand-new 80-player island, Devil Fruit items in the loot pool and a weekly boss fight. It's short, it's loud, and it's the last stop before Chapter 8. Here's what's actually in it and what it means for your account.

What's new in Treasure Hunters

Crossbones Isle. A new island built specifically for 80-player matches rather than the usual 100. Smaller lobby, faster rotations, more fights per minute.

Devil Fruits. Mythic-tier items from the One Piece crossover, including the Gum-Gum Fruit and the Flame-Flame Fruit. They sit at the top of the loot pool and change how a fight plays out, so expect them to dominate end-game circles for the first couple of weeks.

Captain's Day. A weekly boss event. A$AP Rocky was the first boss, Lil Uzi takes over on November 7, and the Gold Sprite boss arrives on November 12. Each boss drops themed loot, so it's worth checking the island each week.

Cups. The One Piece Zoro Cup runs on November 6 and the Buggy Cup on November 13. Both are the usual "play, earn points, unlock a cosmetic early" format.

The ranked reset — read this before you grind

A new Ranked season started with v43.00 and ranks were reset. Two rules matter:

  1. You don't drop back to Bronze. The reset moves you down a few divisions from where you finished, not to the floor.
  2. Elite can't be demoted during the season. Once you're in Elite you stay there until the next reset.

In practice that means the first week is where most of the free progress is: lobbies are full of people who were a few ranks higher last season and are climbing back. If you're on a fresh account, this is the easiest window of the season to place well.

When does Chapter 8 start?

Epic hasn't announced a date. The mini-season has no official end date either; the Battle Pass timer inside the game is the only reliable countdown. Third-party trackers currently point to around December 5, 2026, with Chapter 8 expected in early December. Treat that as an estimate, not a promise.

Historically, a new chapter means a new map, a new Battle Pass, and usually a live event the night before. If a live event happens, downtime typically starts the evening before launch (US time) and runs a few hours.

What this means if you're buying a Fortnite account

A chapter change doesn't touch your locker, your V-Bucks or your account level. Everything you own carries over. What changes is the Battle Pass (new one, new price, progress reset) and ranked.

So when you look at Fortnite accounts on SmurfRealm, the things that keep their value through a chapter change are the ones to pay for: OG skins (Renegade Raider, Black Knight, Skull Trooper original), rare emotes, high account level, and V-Bucks balance. Current Battle Pass progress is worth almost nothing the week before a chapter ends, so don't pay extra for "Battle Pass fully unlocked" right now unless the pass itself has a skin you want.

For sellers it's the opposite: the week after Chapter 8 launches, accounts with a head start on the new pass sell faster.

Two things to check on any Fortnite account

The Epic account must come with full email access (or no email attached) and be free of a previous "2FA phone" you don't control. After delivery: change the password, change the email, turn on 2FA, and check the Connected Accounts page for consoles you don't recognise. Our buyer protection page covers what happens if something's wrong.

FAQ

Is Treasure Hunters a full season? No. It's a short "mini-season" that ends Chapter 7. Expect it to last a few weeks, not months.

Will my rank reset again when Chapter 8 starts? Almost certainly, yes. New chapters have always started a new ranked season.

Do Devil Fruits stay after the season? Collaboration items usually leave when the collab ends. Assume they're gone with Chapter 8.

Does buying an account risk a ban? Account transfer is against Epic's terms. Fresh, full-access accounts that are secured immediately are rarely touched; accounts shared between many people are the ones that get flagged. Buy full access, secure it in the first five minutes, and keep the warranty window in mind.
